I will be found by You, Declares the Lord!

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore..." (Jeremiah 29:11-14 ESV)
"I will be found by You, declares the Lord!"... This is a beautiful promise to us!
I got a sweet picture of this scripture this evening when I walked into our bedroom and my husband was facedown on the floor praying. I left immediately with my heart filled with joy knowing that God is so pleased with him. The Word of God is constantly urging us and telling us to seek God with everything we are and everything we have. This type of radical behavior WILL look silly to the world, but it's beautiful in God's eyes. To the world, a man facedown praying to Jesus is rediculous and weak; but to God, it is STRONG, WISE…

But one thing is necessary...

...Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
(Luke 10:42 ESV)
Yesterday, I got to spend some sweet time with my new friend named Tracy. She lives in Alvin, and  is the sister of Tim, who is a member of RiversEnd Community Church with Kalen and I. Tracy came to our church service last weekend and a sweet word was spoken over her by our pastor. Our pastor said "God has called you to be a Mary"... A Mary is one who does extravagant things for the Lord, but most importantly is called to be super intimate with Jesus.
This is something that has been spoken over my life as well; so to meet a sister in Christ like Tracy is very refreshing & encouraging!  "Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do …

Not Justified by Works...

But through Faith in Jesus Christ alone. Galations 2:16
that is freeing.
So often I get caught up in the "not good enough" wheel. Thinking "I can't do this and I can't do that"... mostly pertaining to my walk with Christ. What I'm realizing (with the help and guidance of my amazing husband) is that it's impossible to walk with God 24/7 without depending on the Holy Spirit (putting full trust and Faith in Jesus Christ). I find myself trying to walk with God out of my own strength and coming up short everytime. The reason why I can't attain these goals I'm reaching for in my walk with Christ is that I am walking in my own strength and depending on my own goodness to SAVE and strengthen me. When I have already been set free through faith in Christ, my faith in Christ is what strengthens me and justifies me, not how strong I am in the face of challenges, but only through faith in Christ
Does this bless the socks off anyone else but me?! We are just…

RiversEnd Community Church

Meet the Houcks, The Garcias, The Perry's, Matt Snyder, Linda Achee, and The Powells (our pastors family-far right)

Last wednesday night at WoodsEdge Community Church our new church plant was officially commissioned by the elders. Our team has been preparing for 18 months and are planning to do our "public launch" (i.e. start a Sunday morning gathering) on April 8, Easter Sunday at 9:30am at the Branch Crossing YMCA in The Woodlands. Our name will be RiversEnd Community Church (see Eze. 47). We would appreciate your prayers. May God be pleased and glorified. May the Holy Spirit's power be made manifest as we join Jesus in the Great Rescue!

Picture taken on one year anniversary :o):
Kalen surprised me with so many wonderful gifts this anniversary weekend, but without the love of Christ in his heart shining through to me, it all would have not meant so much to me.  There is so much joy in my heart because Christ has redeemed our hearts and has taught us what love truly is. This past year has been trying, but the love of Christ is what has seen us through. This …

The Surpassing Worth...

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.

Could Paul be urging us to count all as rubbish that we may experience Christ in the fullest, most intimate way possible? I think so... I think losing all things (that we find our hope and security in other than Christ) and counting them as rubbish (not as worthy compared to Christ) is the key to seeing Christ as Paul did, a priceless t…
