Ballet Excelsior of Houston

The Ballet Excelsior of Houston is a Christian contemporary ballet company, using the art of dance to glorify God.

For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
NKJV 1 Cor. 6:20

I got the sweet privilege to go to one of Excelsior's beautiful ballet shows this past weekend (my pastors daughter, Abbie Powell just started doing ballet there!). One word to describe it; awe-inspiring. Not only were these women (and the few men) talented, they were in love with the Creator God & the Savior, Jesus Christ, & the Counselor, The Holy Spirit- as expressed in their dancing and music. Then the Ballet began...

Each single ballet performance depicted different parts of Creation, going through and telling the whole story of God's creation, the animals, the creation of woman from man, the garden scene, the fall of mankind, leading right into the NEED of a...

Savior

This last performance was my favorite. It told the story of Christ's death and ressurection for our freedom from Sin and communion with God again. The love and adoration for Christ depicted in this scene was breath-taking and awe-inspiring.

Sweet Abbie and I after her performance!
Very proud of her and thankful that she's apart of SUCH an amazing, Christ- Honoring organization!

One of the dancers from Ballet Excelsior of Houston said,
“I am a Christian performing artist because I have found Jesus Christ to be the answer to the great ‘why?’ of my art, just as He is the answer to the ultimate ‘why?’ of my life. When I partner with God to communicate the things on His heart, the Holy Spirit will help the audience to receive it in ways that are beyond human comprehension.”
